Who we clean windows for

Owners’ associations (SVJ) and housing cooperatives. In the common areas of a building we clean the windows on the stairs and half-landings, the glass panels in front doors and the glazed walls by the entrances. Window cleaning can be added to regular apartment building cleaning or ordered on its own.

Companies and shops. A shopfront is a shop’s calling card. We clean shopfronts, office windows and glazed entrances, as a one-off job or to a regular plan.

Public buildings and institutions. We also offer window cleaning to public buildings and institutions. The date can be fitted around how the building is used.

Households. We clean windows in flats and family houses too. It comes in handy in spring, before the holidays or whenever you simply do not have time for it.

How we clean windows

We do window cleaning in Brno by hand and with care. First we remove coarse dust and cobwebs from the frames and sills so they do not smear across the glass. Then we clean the glass and finish its edges and corners, where dirt clings longest.

We use a different product on frames and sills than on glass. Plastic, wooden and aluminium frames need gentle treatment so that neither the surface nor the seals are damaged. Afterwards we tidy up around the window so that no water is left on the floor or furniture.

What a good result looks like

A well-cleaned window shows no streaks when you look at it against the light and no drops along the edges. The frames are free of dust and the sill is dry. There are no fingerprints left on the inside and no dried-on dirt in the corners of the glass or on the seals.

What to watch out for in different buildings

Prefab apartment blocks

In prefab blocks the stairwell windows are large and some only tilt open. When we look round, we check which windows can be safely opened and cleaned on both sides. Those we cannot safely reach from outside we clean from the inside.

Offices

Offices often have large glazed areas, blinds and sills full of things. We therefore agree a date that will not disrupt work, and it is a good idea to clear the sills beforehand. Window cleaning can be combined with office cleaning.

How often and at what time of year

Windows are mostly cleaned in spring, to remove the winter grime, and in autumn, before the heating season. We recommend how often based on where the building is and how it is used.

We do not clean the outside of windows in frost, because the water freezes on the glass. If you need windows cleaned in winter, we agree to do the inside and leave the outside for warmer days.

Window cleaning in a building’s common areas

In apartment buildings window cleaning is a little different from a private home. Stairwell windows tend to be large, above the stairs and sometimes hard to reach. So we work carefully and with equipment that does not put anyone on the stairs at risk. While we work we keep the way clear so residents can come and go as usual.

In an owners’ association, window cleaning can be planned together with other work, such as the spring clean-up after winter or machine scrubbing of the entrance floor. The committee then deals with one date instead of several.

Shopfronts and glazed entrances

Everyone walking past sees a shopfront. Glass next to the pavement quickly collects dust from the street, rain marks and children’s handprints. We therefore recommend cleaning shopfronts more often than the windows of apartment buildings, depending on how busy the street is. We work at quieter times so that our equipment does not get in customers’ way.

Window cleaning at home

In a flat or family house we agree which windows we will clean and whether we will do the outside too. You only need to move furniture by the windows slightly; we take care of the rest. When we finish, we tidy up after ourselves, so there is nothing left for you to clean.

Smaller jobs from photos

For smaller jobs, such as the windows in a flat, we do not need to come out first. A description and a few photos of the windows are enough. Based on them we prepare a quote free of charge and agree a date.
