New and old Líšeň

Líšeň lies on the eastern edge of Brno, and with more than 26,000 residents it is one of the larger districts. It was joined to Brno in 1944; until then it had been a market town in its own right. The terrain is broken and hilly: in the east it drops steeply into the Říčka gorge, and in the north, where forests cover the land, it reaches into the Moravian Karst. The lowest point is 235 metres above sea level, the highest 443 metres.

The eastern boundary is formed by the deep Mariánské údolí valley, where people from all over Brno go for walks. The built-up area has two parts:

• Nová Líšeň: a prefab estate built in the 1980s on the slopes west of the older streets. Its spine is the tram line through Líšeňská rokle, a ravine, with the underground Jírova stop, the highest-lying tram stop in Brno. The district office is nearby, in a services complex.
• Stará Líšeň: the original, smaller settlement east of the estate. Líšeň was granted market-town status as early as 1558.

The tram first reached the edge of the estate in 1986 and today terminates at Mifkova, a short walk from the square in old Líšeň.

The corridors and entrance hall of a prefab block see street shoes all day, and a hand mop is eventually not enough. We therefore offer to wash tiles and linoleum with our own scrubber-dryer, which scrubs the floor and sucks up the dirty water straight away. You can order this as a one-off or add it to the regular cleaning. We also offer machine floor cleaning to schools (Líšeň has seven primary and three secondary schools).
