Housing in Bystrc and what it means for cleaning

Bystrc is one of the largest housing estates in Brno. In 1970 fewer than 2,500 people lived here; by 1991 the new prefab estate had multiplied the population almost tenfold, and today Bystrc has more than 24,000 residents. The district is made up of several parts, and each of them places different demands on cleaning:

• Stará Bystrc and Bystrc I: the original village on the Svratka river with the Church of St John the Baptist and St John the Evangelist, and the oldest prefab estate next to it.
• Bystrc II: the later prefab estate west of the so-called German motorway, reaching as far as the Ečerova tram loop.
• Teyschlova and Kamechy: prefab blocks completed after 1990 and, beyond them, the newer development of Kamechy towards Žebětín.
• Kozí horka: the edge of Bystrc by the reservoir, where the ground climbs sharply.

In a prefab block, cleaning is mostly about the lifts, stairwells with landings, corridor windows and the entrances that many people use every day. In buildings with several entrances, the committee usually wants every entrance to look the same. Every season the district publishes information on winter maintenance of the roads and pavements in its area. That covers public land. The entrance to your building, the path to the bins or the drive to the garages on the association’s own land are usually not included, and those are exactly the areas we can take care of. We recommend arranging this before the first snow so that we know which areas belong to the building.

Write to us or give us a call and tell us about the building: how many entrances and floors it has, whether there is a lift and a garage, and which outdoor areas you want kept clear in winter. We then arrange a visit, prepare a quote and, once you agree, can put up a notice in the entrance to let residents know who will be cleaning.
